MILITARY COMMITTEE

Duluth has always been a patriotic community, and this display of patriotism has spilled over into the Festival. Join us this year as we celebrate and “Welcome Home” the 2-69 Armor Soldiers who have just returned from a 15-month deployment in Iraq.

The Soldiers will lead the parade at 10:00 a.m. Be sure to hold up your American Flags and “Welcome Home Posters” for the troops to see as they pass by and then move towards the Festival Center for the Opening Ceremony at 11:30 a.m. where they will be recognized for their service. The 2-69 AR Battalion is part of the 3rd Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division based at Fort Benning in Columbus, Georgia, and have served in Iraq three times. They have marched in the parade three different years and share our values of family, community, and patriotism. A warm welcome will always be found here for these troops.
